BADGLEY MISCHKA "Corona: Love in the Time" Feeding America Charity Artwork, Size LARGE.
This is one of the many pieces of art that designer Badgley Mischka created during her isolated time when the corona virus was at its peak. She used the pandemic to create a series of sketches that range in emotion from frightened, strong, nasty, positive, confused, dreamy, aggressive, lonely, and more. She sold her artwork in a book at $160 each with the proceeds going to FEEDING AMERICA initiative on eBay Auctions that raised funds to provide over 200,000 meals to the most food vulnerable people in our country. The proceeds from clothing and other items also went to the initiative.
The artwork is a woman with big innocent looking eyes, while the young luscious red lips mistakenly slips out a fang revealing its true intensions are not so innocent. The embroidered patch is the same face but seemingly older looking with the same young features but has a mole, long fake eyelashes, slicked back hair and huge dangling earrings. Maybe its a young girl trying to look old or an old woman trying to look young. Either way, there is deception. All this is just my perspective. The artist has her meaning, but everyone is entitled to their own...
