@shaina_elizaa when I bought my house 3 years ago I tore out a huge backyard lawn and replaced our crazy rock hard clay soil with layers of sheet mulch and wood chips. I can now literally dig anywhere and find active living soil with earthworms...I didn’t believe it would work but it did! The birds are to thank for the sunflowers - they “repurpose” the birdseed and sunflowers pop up sporadically everywhere. It’s really awesome to watch the process😊🌺
