@bkevil sorry for the late response. This is directly from the website: EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) is a high-quality, very light, elastic material with very good cushioning. As a result, it smooths out slight irregularities in the floor and ensures that every step is softly cushioned.

Size 39 is a US 9. 36 or 37 is a US 6 to 7. That might be why they haven't sold. I now have 2 pairs just like these and love the footbed and 1 strap style. Good luck
