Some Japanese releases of Space Invaders like the 1978 T.T. Space Invaders used multi-coloured cellophane to make it look like your aliens were rainbow. Destroying aliens in pretty colours is just more fun! Iconic and unforgettable, Space Invaders was the game that defined the industry. Excuse me while I nerd out for a second here: Entirely aside from the fact that the Space Invaders alien is basically the universal symbol for 'video-game' (can't get much more iconic than that), it was the first game where your enemies shot back at you, and it was the first game to use music and sound effects together throughout the game.
