Story of the evil eye- It is the belief that a malicious or envious gaze can cause harm to the victim, such as bad luck, misery, or injury and by wearing an accessory such as the one pictured, you are warding off this malicious gaze. In Spanish it’s referred to someone giving you “ojo”. It’s believed that when the jewelry falls apart in some way it means that it has fulfilled its job in successfully warding off the bad energy and it’s time once more to get a new piece to continue to ward off evil.
