cbroche @danceme23 It’s wool so it’s pretty warm! I would not wear it in the dead of winter, but it’s good above freezing :)

danceme23 @cbroche so my trench doesn't have the zipper to zip it in, but I want to wear it more in the winter. How do you think it would lay under? It's also a size 4.

cbroche @danceme23 my friend actually had a similar situation with an insert she purchased secondhand. She had her dry cleaner sew buttons into the lining of her Burberry coat (cost about $10) and then sewed matching button bands onto the insert. So that way she could “button” the insert into her coat and it fit as if it were zipped!

cbroche @danceme23 Also, I have a size 2, 4, and 6 coat that the lining fits into so I would guess it would fit your size 4 coat. Worst case you get it slightly hemmed (most dry cleaners can do that too)!

danceme23 @cbroche oh that is really interesting and helpful! My trench is knee length, so I was mostly worried about the width. I didn't want it poking out the front. My trench has the black nova check plaid, and not the tan, so it would be super obvious. If it didn't fit. Can you provide measurements?
