@jessica10908 I love your photos! Do you have any tips on how to achieve the white background and how to add the graphic to photos? It is very cool and professional.

@mpille59 hmm, well, I have a photography studio and a few different backdrops, including a solid white seamless backdrop that's about ten feet wide & 8 or9 feet high. I have lighting, double sided reflectors and so on. I use a cannon rebel to photograph the items and then upload them onto my computer where I use my photo editing tool to crop the photos into squares and add in the graphics and so on...

@mpille59 But this is also my full time job so I have to push myself to keep up with the correct equipment and so on. What advice I can offer you is this... If you do not have a mannequin I recommend photographing your items against a plain white wall or very lightly colored wall.if you have a room that gets good natural lighting, I HIGHLY recommend that. Natural lighting is very effective and will show your items well w/out washing out the colors.

@mpille59 Occasionally, and if u browse through my closet you'll see, I still do this from time to time when I'm at home & feel like listing something. If u have a mannequin follow the same methods just instead of hanging the clothing you'd put the mannequin in front of the white/lightly colored wall in your home.

@mpille59 You also do not want a "busy" background because this can take your potential buyers eyes off the item you're trying to see and onto whatever's in the background so I recommend keeping it plain or extremely simple. You can also model your items following the same steps.

@mpille59 I use to model my own items but found as I grew my business it became way too time consuming and my weight fluctuates soooo much up & down I can't fit in a lot of things I have listed plus I also run a consignment shop & I have too much here to list and modeling just isn't an option for me. Hmmm, what else???
jessica10908
@mpille59 Oh, if you're interested in a SMALL mini photography studio set up just to have a few basics you can buy a set rather cheaply. I started out that way and literally set it up in my bedroom the first year! It comes with 3 backdrops in white, green & black (they're cloth ones, like bed sheets... Ok to start off with those but I much prefer a seamless backdrop- which is like a heavy paper). The backdrop stand & I think 3 lights.

@mpille59 They are easy to set up & take apart. And it comes with a duffel bag to store it in. If u r interested in that I can try to find the link to the set where I purchased my first starter kit. Also, idk how you photograph your items but if you're using a smart phone there's a lot of decent apps to help make your photos pop! You just have to play around with them all until u find the ones u r most comfortable using.

@mpille59 Ok, I think that I covered all I can. Lol. Hope this helps!! Now I'm going to have to break up this msg into a million tags due to the 500 character limit 😁 lol!!!!

@jessica10908 OMG - thanks so MUCH for all the advice! I truly appreciate it. I am interested in the starter set-up so I can up my game with my photographs.
