Each time I visit Coach, I personally select new items to include in my closet. I only purchase Coach DIRECTLY from Coach stores to ensure authenticity. What a day...my mobile crashed this a.m. & I lost everything :( I re-downloaded the Poshmark app just a while ago & was so happy to see my items there...thank goodness it saves on their server!!! As for Coach, interesting choice for a new corporate umbrella name...but I would expect them to keep the Coach name for the leather goods/bags division and to continue with the "C" pattern. But who knows with companies these day LOL!

michellecowensc @aurora33180 and OMG the trip was EPIC!!! We could see the festival site and the Mandalay Bay next door, but we didn’t let it get to us. We just went to the left toward New York New York and MGM Grand etc....was SO much fun!!! Totally spent all our money on food, drinks, and the penny slots, but we had soooooo much fun it was totally worth it! Ended up making $20 the last night, so that was fun 😆😅😂 gonna start saving my money for that gorgeous little wallet I need so badly 😆😍😘

And zippers CAN be YKK brand...but not always...Coach now has several zipper brands they use :) And look for the logo on the small connector for the metal beads on hangtags...fakes often forget that detail! jes1red F58282. I wish i would have written the # fromthe purse but I've already returned it. What i noticed right away was the ykk zippers and after reading your post i knew that was a sure sign it was a fake. As well as the top zipper pull was a metal pull instead of the leather pull in the Coach pics. And since i told them I suspected it was a fake they told me to return the purse.

aurora33180 @jes1red I hope my overview wasn't confusing above...just to clarify: the YKK zipper is indeed used by Coach, it is just not used on "ALL" bags...some have other branded zippers now. (I included that point as Coach used to use only YKK) The zipper pulls can be either leather or metal...if metal, it will be branded Coach. I have found lots of fakes on here so I'm compiling some photos to post next month showing real examples (w/o names) of what a fake looks like :)

jes1red @aurora33180 ooooh! Ok 😂 I misunderstood then. I just wasnt convinced it was real. Everytime ive bought a Coach online it is always packaged with foam and sent in a Coach plastic bag. Im in no way as educated in spotting fakes as well as you are. It was the darker brown trim. I love the red trim as well. Im drawn to the deep red purses Coach puts out. I think the deeper reds are my fav.

I'll keep an eye out for a deep red :) If you purchase directly from Coach online, you are absolutely correct...the leather handle will be wrapped in foam and the bag will usually come in a large plastic bag with the Coach logo. They don't use plastic on the leather handles as it can't "breathe". Also, always remove the paper stuffing inside if you store the bag for a time as the paper can dry out leather bags! When people say they received the Coach "as a gift", keep in mind no one can be sure where the person purchased it and there are many on-line sites selling fake Coach! The bag you purchased this summer on Poshmark does not have the "C"s centered around the black strip that comes down the front, which is not a good sign :( You might also check to ensure the Coach logo is on the hardware. aurora33180 @brittkilluh Welcome! I'm not able to zoom in enough to see the Coach stamp on the hardware, but based on the stitching and workmanship I am "leaning" toward authentic. I've never seen the metal hardware at the base of handles, but it could be an older style or retail. Maybe you could have her post a photo of the small white tag inside showing the style & serial number...that will tell us whether retail or outlet and what month it was made! But looking good so far :)

aurora33180 @brittkilluh Caught me just before signing off LOL....An F "after" the hyphen would have meant Factory so this would be a retail bag based on the number (30402). The initial number C1473 means it was manufactured March (C=3rd month) of 2014. I'm not as experienced with retail bags so don't want to give a "for sure" answer here....but I will say NOTHING jumps out as an obvious fake! Sweet dreams, Aurora xoxo

Although Coach uses the same beautiful leather regardless of selling location (only styles are different), her answer was unfortunately not correct. It is illegal to sell fake merchandise so IF a seller did so here on Poshmark, hopefully PM will assist you in verification & then address the issue if necessary. aurora33180 @lajaponesa1 Ugh, I just checked out your purchase and you may right :( The seller also sold a fake brown Coach (an obvious fake). Some sellers don't even know the Coach they are selling is a fake if they didn't personally buy it. If that is the case, the seller may apologize & willingly refund you via Poshmark. Fortunately you didn't overpay and it appears to be real leather so worst case most people won't know if they don't check it out up close :) Good luck!

Coach stamps the metal ring portion of the key ring with their "Coach" logo and the wallet will always have the small white tag inside a pocket (without the "F" if a retail item). grammaoftwins NOT all bags have the Coach logo imprinted on the HARDWARE. I have several bags for sale, purchased by me at stores or outlets. I have the receipt for every purchase. This avoids issues but not everyone will do that. It’s a shame that some people will try to pass fakes as authentic. Glad you put this together.
