Hi from Fresno, CA -- Would you please let me know the measurement of just the straight portion of the temple; that is, from the hinge, only up to the point where the over-the-ear bend begins. That measurement would tell me if the frames are sufficiently deep to fit properly. Also, may I please know the measurement across, from hinge to hinge? Side note, unrelated: My late mother was born in Newark, NJ, December 1921. Many thanks -- George

@manoravenue the temple measures 145 millimeters which is 5.709 inches. Let me know if I can provide any additional information. The measurements are all listed with the numbers picture of the inside temple.

@vgollaher Thank you, but I believe the temple measurement I was given is the total measurement, and that isn’t what I requested. My request was for the measurement of only the portion from the hinge up to the point where the over-the-ear bend starts. If that straight portion of the temple measures at least four inches, and preferably 4.25 inches, the frames should be deep enough to fit properly. The total measurement included on the temple will not give me the measurement I am requesting.

@manoravenue I will be home Monday night and can get you that measurement.

@vgollaher Thank you.

@manoravenue so I’ve never done these type of measurements so not 100% sure I’m doing it right. But I think it measures 4” deep and 5.5” across. I’m going to try and take some photos since you know exactly what you’re looking for.

@vgollaher Thank you very much for the photos showing the measurements of the frames. The width is fine. The problem area on any frames is usually the location of the over-the-ear bend being too close to the hinge. On these frames, the bend is roughly .25-inch too close to the hinge, but that small distance could probably be manipulated used the heated-sand method at the frames shop. I am just embarrassed to admit that I did not notice until today that the frames have prescription lenses.

Have no idea how I missed that statement, but my eyes went right to it when I viewed the listing today. I will just have to factor in the estimated $45-$55 cost of lens replacement. I do like the shape of the frames and the temples very much; just didn't realize the prescription content of the lenses. Again, I have no idea how I missed that statement, but I did miss it until today, and I'm very sorry for that oversight.

@manoravenue I think I bought them from someone who had their script in them but I will look to see if I have the previous lens in case they weren’t script.

@vgollaher Thank you.

Greetings once again; curious whether there has been an opportunity to search for prior lenses. Thank you.

@manoravenue I looked up the description when I purchased them and turns out I bought them with someone else’s script in them as well. I’m going to post the description she had written.
