Beautiful pin with multiple stones of different green hues! Such a pretty shape & color! Wear it on your lapel or string a necklace through it to wear it as a pendant! Its as beautiful as it is versatile! **The clasp that holds the pin closed is loose. It is easily fixed, but I felt I needed to inform any potential buyer. Still is a GREAT buy!!

This pin looks vintage. Do you know the story behind it?

@dvacante Sorry I'm just now getting back to you!! I just now saw your question! Yikes!! ;)
Honestly, i don't really know much about this pin. I bought it at an antique shop in Houston (TX), when i lived there about 7 years ago. I bought it b/c the owner said it was older & a true vintage piece. But you never REALLY know, right?! People will "fib" to sell something!! I've been tricked before. Even here on Posh!! That's why i am TOTALLY HONEST to my buyers!! I never want someone to be surprised or unhappy with their purchase! So, in the respect of being COMPLETELY HONEST, i must say, I'm really not sure how old it is. But, it does look & feel (the way the hinge feels on the pin itself) pretty old. I'd say it is very likely that it is vintage. It is even lovelier in person. 💎💘

It's Np Whitney. I am really more curious. I can not buy now. But, if you like, when you have extra time, take a close up of the back and the pin clasp and hinge. Maybe I can help you date it (circa). If it is still all original and hasn't been repaired that will tell a lot! I live north of Houston. Do you mind if I ask where you bought it, general area - like Westheimer or Old Town Spring etc?

@dvacante I cant remember exactly where it was, but it was very near where i was living at the time. Near the Heights, somewhere off of Main. In the northern area of Main.
I will get some pics of the back & clasp for you. I probably could date it if i still lived nearer to Houston!! But, i got married & moved into our home almost halfway between Houston & Austin. Near College Station (30 minutes west of C.S.) if you know where that is!!! 😄👍

Yes I do. That is where I would pick to live in Tecas. Around the Brenham area. It's absolutely beautiful and close to Houston, Austin and San Antonio. There is an amazing place to shop for plants and take incredible pictures in Independence called the antique Rose Enporium. They have gorgeous gardens with gazebos and cottage flowers. They even have a wedding chapel and reception hall. Definitely worth the trip even if you're just taking pictures!! Don't rush on pics. But the back tells you more than the front can!!!

Oh, yes. I've been to the Antique Rose Emporium many, many times!! My mom & now i are HUGE rose enthusiasts & we live about 45 minutes from there! I actually went to college in Brenham, so i lived there for 2 years! (There is a Jr. college there. But i had a scholarship that covered my 2 years there, then i transfered to the Art Institute of Houston studying Interior Design!!!)

You are a very lucky lady. That is such a wonderful area. Especially in the spring with all the bluebonnets!
