Sharif has cultivated a global following for his award-winning style that combines leather, textiles and unique hardware in distinctive silhouettes. Sharif grew up in Cairo, Egypt where his family operated a leather manufacturing company founded in 1827. Sharif moved to New York City in 1974 where he took a job with a prestige handbag brand. Sharif founded his own company in 1979, which he built into America's largest handbag manufacturer by the late 1980s. This came from my aunt who LOVED this brand.
