This adorable beetle brooch has a jasper of some type for a body, and what feels Like a real pearl for the head. However, you can see wear to the gold color, leading me to believe it is likely plated. BSK jewelry was a high end costume jewelry make founded in the 1940s. They were known for use of high end materials, so it is likely to be gold wash or gold plate. There is a set of necklace and earrings on etsy, by BSK, using the same stone, listed for $60.
