Berek Original Rare 3D Hand Knit Red Christmas Tree Sweater 1980s

Rare Berek 3D Xmas Tree Sweater in highest quality soft worsted weight 100% wool yarn . ( Med.weight) . Perfect for the holidays &/or your Beautiful Christmas Sweater Party. Definitely collectible! The detail on this is unreal - beautifully hand made in the nicest yarn available. This great sweater features fancy buttons as ornaments on the tree! Done in the oversize 80s style & sized as S-M. Quite roomy by current standards. See measurements. May fit larger... The 80's square shape & sizing provided an ample canvas for picture knits. The knit style is called Intarsia - different colors of yarn are wound on bobbins & inserted into the main color knitting, twisted so as not to create a hole, & knit in 3D designs. Measurements: Bust: 20" Flat, Length 25" , Underarm to cuff 17" My mother purchased 4 of these hand knitted sweaters from Nordstrom’s Savvy shop in 1980s & stored them away carefully as examples of fine-art hand knitting. She never wore them! So they are Brand New & in Perfect Mint Condition. An avid knitter & professional sweater designer she collected these for their artistic merit at the time they came out. She hated wearing sweaters w/labels because they irritated her neck. She removed the labels & this note was in drawer w/ sweaters “These are all Berek hand knit Xmas sweaters - the labels are in my sewing box” I've not yet located the labels, but decided to list the sweaters now as “Tis the Season to be Jolly." Can be worn straight or bloused
