Bernhard Altmann (1888 – 1960) was Austrian textile manufacture, He introduced cashmere wool to North America on a mass scale in 1947. Bernhard Altmann was famous for his cashmere lines, but also produced clothes in Shetland wool and a lambswool/fur fiber blend called ‘Bernamere’.
