English Tray or Butter Plate, Originally part of Cruet Set, Green, Beswick #253 6 3/4" previously owned. condition is indicative of age of pottery. some crazing. no cracks. Beswick England circular marks printed in black indicate an age of 1948 to 1954. in 1954, Beswick started to use impressed markings with serial numbers and it looks like block letters impressed into the pottery. Beswick pottery is a type of English fine bone china that was produced in Longton, Staffordshire from 1894 to 1974. The company was founded by John Beswick who previously worked for Royal Doulton. The company was later sold to Royal Doulton in 1969
