@bluestar777 I am pretty sure (not 100% certain) that when VW did have berets for a autumn/winter collection, that they did not look like the ones in these photos. I believe they were usually tartan, and perhaps with a roulette motif at one point. Thanks for letting me know so I can look into this further (:
