Bh Wragge 1969 100% Virgin Wool Sheath Dress Order No 1581 Sz 8 Designer RARE

This is a gorgeous peach silk lined thick fabric Vintage dress worn by the stars 1960’s. This dress was was made in 69 as the tag shows on bottom right corner. the style and remarks written on inner tag but I cannot make out what is says, has N309 and order #1581 on inner tag. Union made. Dress does have a couple of flaws as shown in photos: 2 spots on inner lining, a very small spot on front as shown, I did not try to clean spots due to the dress being vintage. Stitching on inside collar is coming unthreaded can be repaired, and it looks like someone pulled the threads apart on lining at zipper where tags are about 3”can also be re-stitched. Is missing belt as shown But overall dress is in very good vintage condition. BH Wragge was established in 1920 by Bernard H. Wragge. It was acquired by Sydney Wragge in 1931, as a maker of both men's shirts and women's blouses. By the late 1930s Wragge had developed the idea of separates and the company produced coordinated blouses, skirts, pants, coats, and other pieces that were meant to mix and match. From the late 1930s and into the 1950s each BH Wragge collection was based on a theme, with the fabrics often designed by famous artists. These clothes were geared toward a young customer and BH Wragge clothes were very popular with the college set. Toward the end of the 1940s the company changed its image somewhat and began doing more dresses and suits. By the 1960s they were producing evening dresses. The company closed in 1971.
