The Lugano is a retro woven-style sandal, featuring soft, suede leather crossed straps and the classic comfort of a BIRKENSTOCK footbed. The sandals have four straps, one with an individually adjustable metal pin buckle. With its additional foam layer, the soft footbed offers extra comfort – all day long. I wear a size 6.5 in closed-toe shoes, but a size 6 in sandals. With Birkenstocks, that means that sometimes my toes come right up against the edge of the sandal in the front. It's really a matter of personal preference: it doesn't bother me at all but it does bother some people. This pair of Lugano Birkenstocks feature a soft, anatomically shaped, narrow footbed and they are labeled "Made in Germany". I wore them twice and found that this style is just not for me.
