Are the marks in the toe area indentations or just the leather changing color?

@audreys218 depends what you mean. Birkenstocks have a heel cup and toe bar. If u mean toe indents from wear, as in someone has broken them in, the previous owner may have, but not significantly. I did not wear them, so no wear from me
