I've had this belt for years. We used to call this laser cut. Now they call it hollowed out. I don't know if there's a difference. But I enjoyed this belt and got good use out of it. It's oddly versatile. I especially liked that it's WIDE -- almost 4" wide, so it's a great cinching belt for wearing over anything. It has a wide plate and a very sturdy crisscross loop to hold the tail of the belt after it goes through the buckle. I thought it was leather but now that I inspect it, it does not say it's leather. And it's made in China, so I'm guessing it's faux. But it's supple and sturdy (and fairly thick) and has worn very well -- no damage or signs of wear on the "leather." The metal buckle has some scratch marks that are not noticeable unless you're looking for them. It's an excellent belt with lots of wear still in it.
