As with any other type of shoe, a boot that fits properly will feel good when you wear it. It shouldn't be too short or too long on your foot. Your heel should have no more than a quarter of an inch of space between it and the boot, and your toes should move freely. You'll also want to make sure the boot is not too tight around the widest part of your foot.
