bellamuffin @shaena167 absolutely! I like my sweats looser but these won't stay up on my hips / stomach even when I tie them. I bought the XS and those are even loose so I would think the Small is a true medium. They are the most flattering athletic pants I own and wear them all the time with heels :) they do not cling, which is the best part. hope this helps.
