2 cups fresh or frozen blackberries
1-2 chipotle peppers plus 1 tablespoon adobo sauce (from a can of Chipotle peppers in Adobo sauce)
1/3 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
3/4-1 cup brown sugar (depending on your preference)
1 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon liquid smoke
1 tablespoon dry mustard
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Add all ingredients to pot, and cook for 10 minutes. Blend with immersion blender or regular blender and strain with fine mesh strainer (I thinned mine with about 1/2 c water and then cooked it down again after straining). Return to pot and cook on low for about 20 min, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat, cool and store in fridge or freeze. Makes about 3 cups
