Blue & White Norwegian Snowflake Hand Knit Wool Cardigan Sweater / M - L

Contemporary interpretation of a Norwegian cardigan sweater is hand knitted from a Vogue Knitting Magazine c.2000's pattern in soft warm worsted weight high quality wool yarn. Pretty pattern that is expertly knitted. Six Scandinavian pewter snowflake buttons adorn the front button band. A lattice border trims the bottom border and the cuffs substituting for the ribbing used in earlier Norwegian patterns. The lattice borders and the standing neck band lend a more casual modern look to this sweater than the tightly knit ribbing in older variations of this theme. This charming sweater has both a ski lodge and a nautical feel simultaneously given the blue and white color way and the classic selbu rose pattern that also look like Naval stars! Wear this sweater with white pants on a sail boat on breezy spring days as well as apres ski in the lodge during a winter vacation. The yarn is soft & cozy wool / not crisp & scratchy. The pretty buttons are pewter, but look like sterling silver. It took a highly skilled knitter over 60 hrs to knit this work of art! It is a treasure. Measurements as shown in the photos are: Bust 20" flat x 2 = 40" circumference. Length is 23" down center back from neckband to hem,. Sleeves are measured from underarm to cuff edge 18". Please note - The best way to measure the sleeve length on these sweaters is from underarm to cuff edge. ( not from shoulder seam to cuff. Best fit - a woman's M to L over 5'6" tall due to the length. Very comfy!
