After merc did this my sales went WAY down and the offers people sent were A JOKE because the fee to buy is so high!! THIS IS WRONG! We are struggling as a society with CRAZY HIGH INFLATION and these billion dollar companies (P OSH IS WORTH 1.2 BILLION!!) keep mining our wallets to pay shareholders EVEN MORE! PLEASE LET P OSH KNOW IF YOU AGREE WITH ME AND YOU ARE FED UP WITH COMPANIES TAKING ADVANTAGE OF US!! Also FYI, P was bought in 2022 by a “Kor ean conglomerate”! Goggle it!

@funkyythreadz right! It’s outrageous. I closed my m erc store and stopped buying there. I’ll do the same here. I’m over these corporations squeezing us! It’s not right! I googled and p osh was bought by a “Korean internet conglomerate” in 2022 for $1.2 billion! We’re not even supporting our own country when buying/selling here.

@funkyythreadz I just made my LAST purchase here girl. (SUPER ISO lol) Paid an extra $9 on the price for a “buyer protection plan” that we’ve had all along for FREEZIES! What?? I’m out lol!

@funkyythreadz Yup, no choice. It’s built in and it’s not even a set price. Different items will have different fees. 2 people could post the same exact item and the fee will be different on both their items! It’s crazy.

@mistifeyed 😳😳 I was thinking it was some sort of % based on the purchase coat, which would make sense the fee can change now... same pair of leggings sells for $40 by one person and $80 by the other, but I preferred the flat rate "protection".

@sczl1le19 it happened yesterday. I went to buy my DISO bombshell pants and I noticed the total was $110 when the pants were $85. I was like noooo they didn’t! And yes, they did. I don’t even remember getting an email about it. When I goggled it it said went into effect yesterday.

@sczl1le19 While we will make more of the listing money, if your sales slow down or nobody wants to pay your price because of the fees, how is that a benefit to sellers? It’s just a way for them to pass their operating fees onto us. I’ve seen SOO many price drops of my liked items already!

@sczl1le19 This was supposed to be a place to buy and sell CHEAP used clothes but now it’s not going to be worth it to pay an extra $10-$20-$30 on top of the price because if it’s gonna push it closer to the price that it is brand new, I’ll just buy it brand new. M erc even tried to say that you wouldn’t pay any fees if you used your sales balance to pay but THAT turned out to be a lie too. That’s what made me close my store there.

@funkyythreadz no fees can be different on items that have the same price! There’s so many factors they use to determine the fee! You’ll NEVER be able to figure out what the fee might be to sell an item till you post it! So person a and person b have the exact same pants, same price and your fees will differ 😧

Y’all! I added pics. Look what bombshell is selling for on m erc these days! I filtered by most recent sales. THAT is what buyer fees are going to do. Barely anything sold for over $30! That’s absolutely insane!

Also we are now paying TAXES BASED ON THE BUYER PROTECTION FEE AND SHIPPING!! As you can see that $40 item in my state of Texas should have only $3.30 in sales tax but you’re paying tax on a previously FREE buyer protection program AND shipping costs! Total tax on this item listed at $40 is now $4.38!! So that $40 item is now $58!!
