Preowned, vintage Bonnie Cashin 'The Knittery' Noh cardigan jacket, made in 1972. Crafted from a substantial chunky knit in shades of oatmeal, cream and brown, it features Kimono-style sleeves and open construction, making it perfect for layering (a design concept coined by Bonnie Cashin!). Wear this cinched with your favorite wide belt - or open over a blouse and skirt! This piece is "as warm as fur" as Bonnie states in one of her design sketches, shown in our last image! It's also cozy and so incredibly chic!
We'll also include one of her original orange square 'The Knittery' tags with this sale, acquired from Bonnie's archive and shown in our third image on the lower right.
Unlined. Tagged Bonnie Cashin Design. 100% wool. Dry clean recommended. No size tag, fits like modern M. Approximate measurements: shoulders - 16in, bust - 38in, waist - 30in, shoulder to hem - 28in, sleeves (from natural shoulder) - 18in.
Preowned/vintage (50+ years old) with some signs of age, use and prior wear: some piling to the knit here and there.
About 'The Knittery': Bonnie Cashin launched this innovative company in 1972, the same year she was inducted into the Coty Hall of Fame. Each piece was one-of-a-kind, quality made and hand knit by a unique network of knitters from around the world.
