Bonnie Cashin for Coach Sling Bag Dark Red Leather 60s Cashin Carry HTF Rare

Preowned, vintage Bonnie Cashin for Coach Sling Bag, circa the mid 1960s. Made from a dark red (almost burgundy) "cream tanned" leather, it has a large kiss lock pocket on the front and is lined in Bonnie's signature striped fabric. No back pocket. A super cool vintage Cashin bag that's so hard to find nowadays! Bonnie Cashin's innovative design elements were many: dog leash fasteners, turn lock pockets and bags that can fold flat for storage! This bag is a great example of her design aesthetic! Made in the USA. Original label/tag is missing (see last image, where you can see where it was once attached). Stamped CREAM TANNED COWHIDE. Approximate measurements: total height (including sling) = 21in, bag height - 13in, length - 12in, depth - 2.2in. Preowned/vintage (55+ years old) with signs of age, use and prior wear: the leather has darkened and shows color variation (would likely benefit from a good cleaning); some darkening and rubs to the bottom corners (see last image); interior is clean. The gold kiss lock hardware is in very good shape with no loss and just a few light scratches. All-in-all, this a fabulous and rare vintage Bonnie Cashin bag that still shows nicely despite her cosmetic flaws!
