Book: The Ruba'iyat of Omar Khayyam

Translated into English by Peter Avery & John Heath-Stubbs. Paperback, color illustrations, 9" x 6". I believe this copy was printed in 1981. Very good used/vintage condition. Minor scuffing and one crease on cover (see pics). A selection of lyrical quatrains attributed to Omar Khayyam (1048–1131), dubbed "the Astronomer-Poet of Persia". Khayyam was a polymath, known for his contributions to mathematics, astronomy, philosophy, and poetry. "The short epigrammatic stanzas express personal feelings, beliefs and doubts with wit and clarity, and Khayyam is an accomplished master with his touching meditations on the transience of human life and of the natural world. One of the supreme achievements of medieval literature."
