Bowmont is a British Merino wool fabric used by Finisterre for their clothing and accessories: The Bowmont Project Finisterre partnered with Lesley Prior to develop a British Merino sheep that could produce fine wool and survive in the UK. The Bowmont sheep is a cross between a Shetland and a Merino, combining the hardiness of the Shetland with the softness of the Merino. Finisterre and Prior worked together to improve the wool by importing embryos and semen samples from Australia. The flock has grown from 28 sheep to over 300, and the wool is now spun in Yorkshire and knitted in Scotland.
