Golden bronze Wild Kingdom ring, perhaps gathered together at a watering hole. This piece is crafted with an Arts and Crafts appreciation for the process being seen – even featured – in the final product. This ring is hand sculpted to create a safari design, with the high points polished to a shine while the valleys retain the warmer tone of the raw bronze. This is a gathering of animals who call the wilds of Africa their home. Of course, the star of the show is a magnificent African elephant. To his right are the lion and the soulful gorilla. On his left is the hippopotamus, known to the Greeks as the “river horse.” This bronze Wild Kingdom ring is size 6. The design measures approximately 40 mm as it wraps around the band, essentially creating a half-hoop effect. That translates to 1.5 inches in high relief sculpture parallel to the band. As with most mixed metal and bronze alloy pieces, the exact metal content is unmarked. This piece weighs 7.5 grams overall.
