There is a cutout on the backside for the tail.  The shorts measure 6 inches from the top of the waistband to the bottom hem of the shorts.  The inseam measures 3 inches from the crotch to the bottom of the leg opening.  The leg opening measures 3.5 inches across at the bottom.  The waistband is elastic in the back, which expands slightly, and the waist measures approximately 11 inches.
