Please note that Bulova watches have an automatic self winding movement, it will continue to keep time for a certain period of time when not worn, thanks to a rotor that winds the mainspring as you move. If left unworn for an extended time, it may stop, and you’ll need to shake it to restart.

This was my father’s watch and hasn’t been worn in awhile. I set the time and wore it around the house a few days and it worked and kept time.
I suggest when you get it, to set the time and wear it regularly to give the mechanism time to fully wind.
