Never worn, kept in a garment bag in my closet for ten years. This is a Burberry Prorsum, runway collection trench coat from Christopher Bailey’s era at Burberry. This limited edition coat retailed for over $5,000. An incredibly rare, beautiful piece from Burberry before they temporarily dissolved the individual lines and became solely Burberry.

stansmaster Hi, this is a beautiful piece! I am interested. One question though, how tight would you say this trench is cut? I have heard the Prorsum runway lines have weird sizing. Thanks.

tsmcdaniel @stansmaster hi! Prorsum pieces are typically more structured than a traditional for, so they are great because when belted they have a slimming effect. Compared to the other Burberry trenches I’ve owned, which tend to be slouchy and drape, the structure when belted feels more tailored. When it’s unbuttoned, it lays more casually. An absolutely beautiful piece!

stansmaster @tsmcdaniel thank you so much for the detailed description! Would you be comfortable sharing what size you typically are in shirts and how it fit on you? The price is just a large commitment to buying without trying. Thanks for going through the trouble.

tsmcdaniel @stansmaster It would fit best on someone who wears a medium, in my opinion. I wore a large shirt when I first purchased the coat (and I’m 6’3) and it fit nicely then, as well. But, I do like the fit better now, it’s just a bit more loose on a medium fit. I simply don’t use it enough to keep it. It’s been work less than ten times, for sure!

stansmaster @tsmcdaniel ah ok, thank you very much for the feedback. I’m in between a large/XL typically and 6’ on the dot. It’s a shame, because it’s quite a beautiful piece.

tsmcdaniel @stansmaster if you’re a large xl it would be a more tailored fit. I wore a Burberry xl at the time I bought this coat. When I fit more into a standard large, I liked it better. As a medium it’s loose which is what I liked, but it’s a garnet that is designed to be more fitted, so it may end up working nicely for you. What is your suit jacket size? That would be the best indicator to go by. I wear a 44L.

stansmaster @tsmcdaniel I do typically like the more tailored fit so it may just work out. I’m a 44R. I don’t plan on doing a lot of layering underneath either, which may work out to my advantage! Thanks for all of the help.

tsmcdaniel @stansmaster you’re welcome! I say go for it. It’s an incredible runway piece at a steal. :) and it sounds like it’ll work well for your size. :) let me know if you have any other questions!

stansmaster @tsmcdaniel I would agree completely! Are you open to price negotiation? I didn’t plan on budgeting for a Prorsum, but it really is a wonderful piece. Thanks

tsmcdaniel @stansmaster the amount that Posh takes as their cut is a large amount off the profit of the sale for this item so, I can send you a counter but cannot go lower than the counter let me know.
