Freya hats are handmade in Ecuador by artisans and family-owned businesses where traditional craftsmanship is apprenticed from one generation of women to the next. The palms are harvested and prepared for weaving in the villages through a traditional, manual process that takes approximately two days. The brand honors their genius through a diverse selection of hats which are all certified to exceed UPF 50 protection.
The Butterscotch and Ivory Gardenia Hat is ready for adventure! Featuring an open-weave crown with grosgrain ribbon details, this is a must-have for sun protection. Bohemian and beachy, you will want to wear this with everything from denim shorts to day dresses.

Care: Hats should be stored upside down with their crown down. Donât pack a hat in a suitcase. If you don't travel with a hatbox, wear it or carry it until you find a safe spot to rest your hat and your head during your travels.
Note: Because the hats are freshly woven, sometimes they arrive a bit stiff. We recommend running a steamer on hats that arrive misshapen. You can flip the brims down and steam them back to shape. They should loosen over time as well.

Any way you can flatten out the hat?

@courtneyreidd you would be able to put books or something heavy on each side once it’s been shipped, as shipping would cause it to fold again.

Hi, how’s the hat condition? The pictures showed looks like the hat is heavily misshaped . Thanks

@thuyhaden please see bottom of description. This is normal:
