CHARLES KLEIN Men’s Regular/Women’s Tall Black Wool Coat

This coat was in my parents’ coat closet when we cleaned it out. I don’t know who wore it…read on! Nice, heavy, warm, calf-length double breasted coat. 100% wool with Paisley satiny lining in body, sleeves and pockets; one small rip in the lining along the back seam (see last photo). No size tag, so my husband (6’2”) and I (5’6”) have both tried it on. For a man, he’s estimating it to be a regular size 42 because the shoulders, armpits and waist are similar to a coat that he owns that is marked as a 42R (sleeves are a little short for him, but he wears Tall.) For a woman, shoulders are very wide and sleeves are very long, there are no darts for bust or flare for larger hips, so I’d estimate it would fit a Women’s size 14-16 Tall based on the limitation in the hip area. Only one button (which my husband thinks is on the wrong side for a man’s coat) plus a small hidden one at the collar to keep it closed on blustery winter days. I will post some dimensions on the last photo to help you decide if it will fit you…please compare to a coat you already have. Bottom line: husband thinks it’s a Tall Women’s coat because of button placement and lining pattern; I think it’s a men’s coat because of how it hangs on me (very loose at the top, tight in the hip). It’s anyone’s guess. No returns. Dry Clean only.
