gracelauren2023 I need some Posh advice! Did you know that the burden of authenticity proof lies on the seller? So if a buyer claims your J. Crew blouse is a replica, Poshmark will allow them to return it unless you have proof? (They don't have to provide any evidence.)

gracelauren2023 Have you run into this problem? I don't know what to do because I source most of my inventory from friends and family, so I don't have any of the original receipts.

outlying0077 @gls3 Can you tag me in the listing you're talking about? I always try to take pic of tags or the labels inside the garment on the listing. Did your listing have that? I've had this happen too and all you can do is show the pics you have. Unfortunately, brands do change the design of their logos or labels and some people don't realize this so they mistake it for a fake.

gracelauren2023 @outlying0077 Yes, it was a brand new dress and all the tags and labels were photographed and listed. My listing had everything! Poshmark isn't saying the buyer proved it was fake - they're just saying because I can't prove it's real, the buyer gets to return it.

gracelauren2023 This has happened to you? Was the item returned? Was it ever proven to be authentic? I just don't know what to do now because I don't have proof of purchase for like 90% of my inventory... I would never intentionally sell a designer replica, but I just don't have the resources to get everything professionally authenticated.

outlying0077 @gls3 that's so strange. Hopefully you'll be able to get the dress back in new condition. Once you do you may want to block that buyer so you don't have to deal with that again. I think some new buyers don't realize items aren't returnable so they'll think of anything to return an item. it's a bummer but i feel like it happens now and then.

outlying0077 @gls3 Yah, it's happened to me before. Fortunately the item was returned in good condition and I ended up selling it later on. On items that are considered luxury I believe there needs to be authentication. I don't sell those items though so I don't do that.

gracelauren2023 @outlying0077 I'm just worried that now someone is going to say that like... an Alice & Olivia dress is fake. I know it's real, but I don't have any proof. Are there even any professional authenticators for Alice & Olivia dresses?

outlying0077 @gls3 Maybe stock photos online to show that it was sold in stores? Hmmm,. you know though, it usually doesn't happen that often and when it does it's usually someone trying to do a return. Sorry, i know it's a bummer.
