Collectible Antique Hallmarks date this spoon to circa 1885 England C Bros S = Cooper Brothers & Sons, which later became identified as Sheffield EP = electroplated A1= highest quality of silver used for process England = country of origin Repousee is a method of decorating metals in which parts of the design are raised in relief from the back or the inside of the article by means of hammers and punches; definition and detail can then be added from the front by chasing or engraving. This large spoon would have been used for serving berries. The pattern is called the kings pattern with pineapple, grape clusters & vines, ribbons, an ear of corn, other fruits & leaves presented.
