🍃 Signed, Navajo Vintage Sterling Silver Carico Lake Turquoise Ring Size 8 1/4 US Markings “Sterling” “PWC” unidentified artist Verified Carico Lake Turquoise Total Weight ~ 23.2 grams Band width ~ 7 - 22mm Setting ~ 28 x 22 x 3mm Carico Lake Turquoise ~ 20 x 15 x 3mm The Carico Lake mine is named after the dried up lake bed in Nevada where it is mined. The mine produces a wide variety of turquoise ranging in color from dark blues to light greens, some with yellow or dark blue "water" webbing. Most sought after is the intense apple green stone... identified as faustite, it is a cousin of turquoise containing more Zinc which causes the intense neon apple green color. Carico Lake has also been sold under the names Aurora and Stone Cabin turquoise under previous owners. Today the claim is owned by Ernie Montoya of Albuquerque, NM and is actively being mined. Last picture shows an example of stones mined from Carico Lake. This is a lovely soft green Turquoise, & not a Faustite. I only have 1 of this item, a copy listing is also in Womens jewelry.
