CP Shades is a lesser-known brand with a strong legacy. Although you might not recognize the brand name itself, you’ve likely seen celebrities and California elites wearing the classic, handmade garments. This inspiring company launched more than 30 years ago in Sausalito, California and has stayed close to home, even as they continue to grow.
David Weinstein moved from New York to the California coast in the early 1970s and opened a handful of jeans stores. Shortly after opening, the founder began experimenting with dying garments by hand and fell in love with the ability to create unique colors. The name CP Shades was chosen to reflect the wide variety of dye hues or ‘shades’ that transform each swatch of pure white organic cotton or linen fabric.

Hello, I’m having a difficult time coming up with an offer because the top looks like it has been washed a few times (Not a bad thing )and wrinkled. How frequently was the top worn. Thank you!

I actually have received this item, and several other CP Shades items, from an storage unit recently. Most of them were dead stock new with tags. These CP Shades pieces are from The late 80s-90s
I would imagine based off the other items, that it was rarely worn and well taken care of. The person these belonged to either had a store or was very into the Brand, because I have pieces in various colors. All of them were very well kept & properly stored.

@jbond6931 Since the item is 100% linen it does have a wrinkled appearance without being steamed/ironed. For the sake of listing the item ASAP, as I have several more, I took the photo as is.

@jbond6931 Also, these items are/were Hand Dyed in San Francisco (From what i understand that was the brands first factory location, and soon after up until today the operate North of SF out of Sausalito, California)
So , it likely what comes out in the photo is less about the washing and more the natural hand dye process and/ or the lighting of the picture.

@jbond6931 CP Shades is Sewn & Hand Dyed in California, in a solar powered facility, which is awesome.
Its possible you are already familiar with the brand , I just figured i’d add some history to it since I myself am excited about having it in my closet.
