G-SHOCK is capitalizing on the runaway success of its GA-2100 series, affectionately dubbed the “Casioak” by fans for its uncanny resemblance to a certain octagonally cased sport watch from Le Brassus, with a new, slightly smaller version aimed squarely at the ladies’ market. The GMA-S2100, falls under the banner of G-SHOCK’s “S Series” collection, which is geared towards women who want traditional G-SHOCK styling, but in a smaller size. (Apparently not all women want their watch to shout “BABY-G” from the bezel.) As such, it not only borrows all the same design cues from the GA-2100, including its Carbon Core Guard case construction, but it also borrows the same ana-digi module, which features world time, a stopwatch, countdown timer, and five independent alarms.
