In 1914, Ernest Gerlach opened a small metalcraft shop named after Benvenuto Cellini, the 16th century Florentine Goldsmith and mannerist sculptor. In 1957, the Randahl Company purchased Cellini Craft, partly to acquire its metalsmiths. It made Argental (from the French word for silver) items until 1965. This piece is in what I would consider excellent vintage condition. It measures approximately 13" x 13".
