I created this informative care kit because I would have wanted someone to send it to me when I experienced hair loss during chemotherapy. Hair is a big part of our identity. Losing all of it at once can be overwhelming. For me, the person looking back at me in the mirror was not someone that I recognized. Suddenly, not by choice, I was bald. The booklet I wrote for this care kit, is packed with knowledge. Example: My cotton pillowcase felt cold when I had no hair. I alternated between silky and fleece fabrics to comfort my scalp.
