Polyethylene children chair K 1340 Kartell - Marco Zanuso & Richard Sapper 1964 A stackable children’s chair, the K 1340 was the first chair entirely built of injection moulded plastic. Designed for Kartell, a children’s stacking chair with removable cylindrical legs and a ribbed back to make it lightweight. It was the first substantial and structural article made of injection molded, non-reinforced plastic. The back of the chair is similar to the slats of the Ariante fan. Prize Compasso d’Oro 1964 Gold Medal Triennale 1964 Prize Grand Prix at the International Plastics Exhibition London 1965 Included in the Permanent Design Collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In great condition. Will be shipped with the legs separated to save on shipping cost. The legs easily just plug right into the base of the chair.
