Christian Dior Gold plated Twisted Knot Brooch

This beautiful brooch is clearly marked Christan Dior, and vintage to the 80's. It cannot be purchased retail. This brooch is a bit longer and more graceful than typical twisted rope circle brooches. It is 4inches long at the longest rope, 3 inches long at the shortest rope, and an inch across at the knot from which point the curving of the brooch sends the width a bit less than 1inch and a bit more than one inch as you travel up and down the length of the brooch. This brooch is truly gorgeous and in the year 2021, well, VERSATILE. I can imagine in the 80's when women were focused on the power dressing well - wearing this brooch on your lapel or blouse at the office made them know you were successful and meant business. But now - my gosh. Sure, take it the office and wear your power. But also, I think it would look great adding some sparkle to a casual blazer, amping up a cool blouse and jeans, and even as a hair ornament either barrette style or on side of bun. I also tried using it as a pendant with a chain I had just to get results and got SO many compliments. (I was very careful with the clasp and chain. It worked.) My next idea would be to go the J.Kennedy Onnasis route as she did with her scarves, sunglassess, gloves, and more on the strap of her bag. Again, would be super careful about the closure so it doesn't come unclasped during the active life of a purse, but that would be very cool.
