There is no peeling or scratching on the red sole, all you see is the reflection of the light. Wipe with soft, dry cloth and store in a dust bag. Made in Italy. This is an authentic, pre-owned item in Very Good Used Condition, it was only worn once (please see the picture of the heels) The only callout is the spike holding down the pull-tab came off. I have very wide feet and this boots have a regular to narrow fit, so the only time I wore it was a struggle and the spikes came off as I was strugg to put it on.
