Christofle Bowl

Christofle France Etched Crystal Marly Orangerie Bowl. Measures approx 5.5” diameter. Adorned with delicate etched design of flowers, leaves and vines. Original sticker inside and piece has the Cristofle etch mark. No signs of use. The design is also on the popular sterling pattern with the same name. The Marly collection takes its name from the Château de Marly built by Louis XIV in the west of Paris, which was to be totally destroyed during the Revolution. It is in this "country castle", where etiquette was less rigid. Here the shape of the plate "with marli" would have been created (the marli is the peripheral inclined part of a plate, allowing it to be handled without dirtying the fingers).
