Christofle France Lumiere Collection-Silver-plate Pierced Baby Seal

This is a piece of the Christofle Lumiere d'argent Collection which was produced between 1987 and 1994 and consisted of 36 pieces. The baby seal is one of the smaller pieces of the collection and measures only 2 inches long. The filigree of the seal is amazing considering the size of the piece. The different renderings of the lightly incised surfaces are reminiscent of Christofle's first jewelry pieces which used a process similar to filigree. The seal comes with its original box where he has lived since his purchase. The seal is in very good condition with no apparent patina aging.
