RESTORATION BAG FOR BEGINNERS! Style Name: VINTAGE Soho Twill Striped Tote Style Number: 4435 Circa 2004 Approx 14 x 9 x 4, 6.5 inch handle drop, approx 9 inch adjustable handle Condition, Positives, Flaws, Items to Note: Positives: Vachetta leather is beautiful! Interior is bright and clean. Hardware is excellent. Structurally intact! To note: Bag still needs STAIN REMOVAL on the fabric - there are splatter stains throughout; one side panel I’ve started removal w/ zote and Amodex; however, the other side and top zip fabric remains untouched. There are few (1-2?) small splits in the leather trim that may clear up with more conditioning; there were more that resolved w/ a few rounds of leather CPR. Also, no hang tag. Any repairs, cleaning/conditioning products used, dunking, etc: This bag has been preventatively treated for mold w/ vinegar spray, and the conditioned, conditioned, conditioned. Initially the leather was so dry, but it has bounced back beautifully! It’s now a rich color with some patina. There are few (1-2?) small splits in the leather trim that may clear up with more conditioning; there were more that resolved w/ a few rounds of leather CPR. I started w/ stain removal from fabric on one side; its definitely improved but not perfect and the stain removal process has led to some color loss pictured. The other side and top fabric remain untreated. This bag is a great restoration opportunity, or one that can surely be loved as is!
