The Blue-winged or Cobalt-rumped Parrotlet belongs to the Psittacidae family. It is a small parakeet, smaller than most parrots, native to South America. This parakeet features a primarily green plumage with striking blue markings on its wings and rump. Males notably display these vibrant blues, while females exhibit more subdued tones, making them uniquely dimorphic in appearance compared to other parrot species.
