Mexico and central American art...This is an exquisite glass mask sculpture that I believe was made in Mexico by Erik Hoglund for Kosta Boda in the 1960’s.
The elongated face is a beautiful deep cobalt blue thick glass. As with any hand forged glass it has some character bubbles.
In my research, I think this abstract modernist work of art is called "Skydreamers".
Measurement is approx:
7" x 10.5"
**On the back, one bubble "surfaced" with a slight sharp edge from the thinned out bubble-glass (Last two pictures)
Not a defect, just sculpted glass bubble character and an interesting pattern for light to shine thru if you decide to add a back light for dramatic display. Show stopper!!
Just as interesting mounted on the wall.
The mask design and shape is inspired by primitive culture art, found throughout Mexico and Central America
*No stand or mounting hardware in this listing. This is the glass mask sculpture only
*PLEASE NOTE; the vintage items in my shop are not new and can show signs of usage from a well loved history/past. I spotlight any significant flaws in the description and in the pictures.
